Paulusstube Is Great Dining in Vienna's City Center

The Paulusstube is quiet and quaint.

Just around the corner from the Staatsoper, the Paulusstube serves fantastic Viennese cuisine in a classy traditional setting. The outdoor seating on the small cobblestone plaza is particularly enjoyable, with spacious tables bordered by shrubbery providing ample privacy and a natural feel. The indoor section of the restaurant, on the other hand, is housed in a building dating back to 1684, when it was inhabited by a count. Pleasant live instrumental musical is also a regular fixture of evening dining at Paulusstube, starting at 7pm. Famous musicians including Placido Domingo and Jose Carreras are even reported to have dined there. The Paulusstube also advertises that it is the oldest Heurige (traditional farmer's wine bar) in Vienna. The cafe offers a wonderful wine list and menu selections are artfully executed and delicious. The seasonal specials, such as the asparagus dishes in Spring and early Summer, are particularly good. For more information in English, visit www.paulusstube.com.
