King Tut in Vienna

From now until Sept. 28, 2008, the world-renowned King Tutankhamun historical exibit will be on display in Vienna. More than 140 items from the tomb of Tutankhamun and other Valley of the Kings tombs will be on display as part of the exhibition, which was organized in collaboration with the National Geographic Society. Items in the collection are 2,500-4,600 years old. Exhibit highlights include King Tut's golden sandals and a bejeweled mini-coffin that stored some of King Tut's mummified internal organs. The current exhibition represents the first time the treasures of King Tut have been to Austria.
Tickets to the exhibit cost €18 for adults, €8.50 for children, and €15 per person for groups. A reduced admission price to the Kunsthistorisches Museum (Art History Museum) is available with the purchase of a "King Tut" ticket. The exhibit is housed in the Ethnological Museum (Völkerkunde Museum) in the New Hofburg Palace, directly across the street from Vienna's esteemed Kunsthistorisches Museum (Art History Museum).
