Fresh Vietnamese Fare at SAPA in Vienna

The ComDiaChay is tasty and vegetarian.

SAPA restaurant is a convenient lunch stop after a bout of shopping on Vienna's store-laden Mariahilferstrasse. The restaurant serves healthy Asian food using fresh ingredients and artful presentation to create a delicious dining experience. The spring rolls (Frühlingsrolle €4.20) or vegetarian spring rolls (FrühlingsrolleChay €3.90) are an excellent way to start the meal. They are clean and light on the tongue, but unsuspectingly filling as well. As for the main dishes, the Cari and ComDiaChay are excellent values for €7-€9. The Cari is a savory bowl of chicken, carrots, and potatoes in a creamy coconut curry sauce. It also comes with a complimentary side of rice or noodles. The ComDiaChay, on the other hand, is a delightful mix of stir-fried vegetables and tofu in a thin zesty sauce that comes nestled beside a neat pile of steamed rice. In addition to fabulous food, SAPA also boasts some wonderful surroundings. The restaurant inhabits a space that evokes the essence of an old Viennese cafe or coffeehouse as opposed to a chic Vietnamese eatery. An antique wooden bar dominates the interior and tall windows with simple, but elegant drapes surround the dining room. For more information, visit www.SAPA.at.
