Skiing Day Trips from Vienna
Austria's Alps offer great skiing.
The Austrian National Railway (ÖBB in German), currently sells combined transportation and ski tickets to ski areas near Vienna. The pass, called the Snow & Fun Ticket, offers appealing rates for a day of skiing at various ski areas throughout Austria. For example, a trip from Vienna's Sudbanhof or Wien Meidling train stations to ski at Zau[:ber:]g in nearby Semmering, Austria costs only €58.10 for an adult. The ticket includes train transportation to and from the appropriate Vienna and Semmering stations (duration of about 1.5 hours each way), a shuttle bus ride from the Semmering train station to the ski complex (about 10 minutes), an all-day lift ticket, and a 20% rebate on ski or snowboard equipment rented at Sport 2000.
