Classy Music at Vienna's Konzert Haus

The Konzert Haus (Concert House) is probably Vienna's second most popular place to hear top quality classical music. Occasionally, the Konzert Haus also serves as a venue for performances that are a bit off the beaten path for such a stately building. Recently, for example, the Konzert Haus hosted Ladysmith Black Mambazo, and in the past, Sting and Lambchop have also performed there. On a more regular basis, fine contemporary classical pieces played by exquisite European musicians fills the halls of the Konzert Haus. In addition to the excellent music, the building itself is a treat to see. Elegance dominates the architecture and golden accents add even more class. The sound quality of the performance halls is also good, though not quite on par with the Musik Verein.
