"The 3rd Man" Weekly at Vienna's Burgkino

Burgkino's main entrance
The Burgkino movie theater's weekly showing of "The Third Man" is definitely worthwhile if you're a fan of Orson Wells or are curious about the state of post-war Vienna. The British film, which is shown in English about three times every week, stars Wells and incorporates a large amount of post-WWII footage of Vienna. Included in the film are shots of the war-ravaged Stephansdom cathedral, a scene involving Vienna's oldest ferris wheel, and chases taking place in the Vienna sewers. The plot is enjoyable and the movie gives a fresh perspective on the Vienna of today. Ticket prices range from €6 - €8, depending on seat preference, and the theater also shows a number of interesting contemporary films in English. For more information, visit www.burgkino.at.
