Viennese Coffee House Style at Cafe Schottenring

When seeking a genuine Viennese coffee house experience, look no further than Cafe Schottenring. The traditional coffee house has excellent food, chic antique Viennese decor, and live piano music on most evenings. A large noble mirror spans the entire back wall of the main dining room, creating a lovely and elegant atmosphere for a leisurely meal or drink.

The coffee is strong and flavorful, while the food rivals Viennese home-cooking at its best. The ample portions of Zander Filet (local white fish), Tafelspitz (boiled beef), Zwiebel Rostbraten (roast beef with a thick onion gravy), and Wiener Schnitzel (fried pork cutlet) are especially satisfying. The staff dresses in crisp black-and-white formal uniforms and is regularly professional and attentive. However, if the cafe is busy or a party is underway in the back room, be prepared to wait a while.

To reach the cafe, take the U2 metro line to Schottentor or the U4 metro line to Schottenring. For more information, visit www.cafe-schottenring.at.
