Guiness World Records in Vienna

Come be a part of history in the making this Sunday, September 30, in Vienna's Prater amusement park. The ZOOM entertainment company in conjunction with the City of Vienna is hosting its second annual attempts to break existing world records or set new ones. Last year, Guiness Book of World Records statistics were broken or newly created as part of the 1st incarnation of the worldwide event in the Prater. Included among the record setters last year was Switzerland native Marko Hort, who managed to fit 264 drinking straws in his mouth. More than 10,000 visitors were there to witness the record attempts and to cheer the contenders on.

This year promises more record-seeking fun for the whole family. Volunteers are currently being sought to assist with one of this year's attempts involving an airborne soccer ball. Volunteers can win a free ball. Other scheduled attempts this year include suspending a 3.9-ton automobile in the air for 15 minutes with super glue, singing karaoke for 26.5 hours straight, and hugging 613 people in under 1 hour.
