Exotic Groceries at Vienna's Prosi
Prosi is a different kind of corner market.
Just across the street from Vienna's main library lies a world of exotic produce, spices, and cosmetics - all housed under the roof of one store. Prosi is a supermarket featuring items from Asia, Latin America, and Africa. The store has a vast selection of rice and high quality frozen fish as well as numerous American comforts like Hellman's mayonaise and Quaker oats. Prosi also sells the best packaged salsa in Vienna (spicy and fresh tasting instead of ketchupy). Other intriguing and delicious offerings include falafel mix, wasabi peas, an ecclectic assortment of teas, hard-to-find spices (like fresh Cilantro), fresh-ground peanut butter, ginger candy, refried beans, and sweet potatoes.
The large cosmetics section at Prosi is also renowned. It stocks an impressive number of products catered toward specific ethnicities.
