Vienna's 7 Stern Bräu Has a Lucky 7 on Tap

7 Stern's Helles and Hanf beer
The 7 Stern Brewery in the 7th district is a great place to enjoy a master-brewed exotic or traditional beer. The brewery always has seven house-made beers on tap. Currently on tap are the Wiener Helles (pilsner), Märzen (amber), Bamberger Rauchbier (smoky dark red), Chilli Bier (spicy gold), Prager Dunkels (dark), and Hanf Bier (golden hemp). The Helles has a nice bite to it and the Märzen goes down easy, while the Hanf and Chilli beers are more suited to those with adventurous tastes. Beer is also available for take-out in flip-top bottles (0.5 or 1 liter) or 5-liter barrels.
The food at 7 Stern is also quite good, though it is rumored that it isn't consistently great. A friend once received a cold rack of ribs, while another received a chicken schnitzel instead of pork when he tried to substitute french fries. The Wiener Schnitzel, Nürnberger Sausage, and Old Viennese Potato Gulasch are usually excellent. Also, the restaurant offers an English translation of its menu inside the regular menu. Service is attentive and friendly and the outdoor seating area in the courtyard is particularly pleasant in nice weather. It's a great place to meet friends or enjoy the sunshine solo. 7 Stern's courtyard seats up to 170.
