Rustic Charm and Great Beer Prevail at Vienna's Bauernbräu

A short distance from the Raimund Theater and Mariahilferstrasse, the Bauernbräu (Famer's Brewery) serves sensational Styrian cuisine and cold, flavorful microbrew beer. The Bauernbier (Farmer's Beer), Hausbier (House Beer), and Das Dunkel (Dark) lay a solid foundation for the beer menu. The food, on the other hand, includes tasty entrees like traditional Wiener Schnitzel (fried pork cutlet), Bauerntoast (thick, dark toast topped with egg, ham, onion and cheese), and Kürbiscremesuppe (cream of pumpkin soup, a Styrian specialty). The Schafkäsesalat (Feta Cheese Salad) is also excellent.

The comfortable, rustic decor adds to the restaurant's appeal. The interior architecture and furnishings incorporate lots of roughcut wood and bricks, creating a sturdy, aged and traditional feel. The friendly staff and availability of English menus also makes for a relaxing meal. For more information and a look at the menu, visit this website.
