Frascati Serves Primo Pizza in Vienna

Dining outdoors is delightful at Frascati.

For pleasant open air dining paired with delicious oversized pizza, grab a table at Frascati. Situated on a lovely cobblestone street off of Mariahilferstrasse's shopping district, Frascati has a plentiful outdoor seating area that wraps around the building. It is the ideal place to indulge in a large refreshing beer (the Gösser Gold is excellent) and a pizza so big it hangs over the edges of its serving plate. Tables can accommodate small group celebrations or serve as quiet places to re-energize after a morning or afternoon of shopping.

Prices at Frascati are very reasonable and the service is good, though at times a bit slow. The Pizze al Salami (pepperoni pizza) is great, and trying any of the pizzas topped with corn (common in Europe) is encouraged. Two pizzas are usually enough to satisfy the hunger of three adults, so order accordingly or plan to take home leftovers (common practice at Frascati). The restaurant also features a gelato shop if there's room for dessert.

In the event of inclement weather, awnings can be rolled out to protect most of the outdoor tables from rain or patrons can also enjoy a meal in the restaurant's large indoor dining area. The indoor dining area even houses a mini-zoo of sorts, featuring exotic birds and rabbits. It's worth a look even if dining outdoors.
