Incredible Edibles at Vienna's Naschmarkt

Naschmarkt
Vienna's most popular outdoor market, the Naschmarkt, is always an adventure. Stall after stall of fresh fruits and vegetables, including seasonal specialties like Eierschwammerl (egg mushroom) in the summer, line the main path through the market. In addition to the plethora of fruits and vegetables, the market is also home to an ample supply of spices, oils, vinegars, cheeses, meats, and seafood specialities.
Simply walking through the market and taking in the colors and smells of the day's offerings is entertaining. For a more hands-on tour through the Naschmarkt, sit down for a meal at one of the many cafes bordering the vendor stalls or graze your way from vendor to vendor to try a sample of whatever catches your eye. The dried kiwi slices, fresh pitihaya (tropical fruit similar to a mild kiwi), zesty olives, and homemade pastas are recommended.
To get to the Naschmarkt, take the U4 metro line to Kettenbrueckengasse.
