The old and dignified interior of Cafe Hegelhof somehow manages to create an atmosphere that is both shabby and regal, creating a comfortable and classy coffee house environment. The house specialty of Melange (Viennese coffee - like a cappucino) served with Sachertorte (rich chocolate cake with an apricot marmalade filling and chocolate glaze) is a steal at only 3 euros. The cafe also offers light meals (like breads topped with spreads, meats, and cheeses) and a range of ice cream desserts, including the popular Eiskaffe (sort of like a coffee/vanilla ice cream float).
Relax in the comfortable indoor or outdoor seats for as long as you like while you read, study, or unwind from a day of sightseeing. As an added perk, free advertising postcards (many with blank backs) are available in the cafe's entryway.
