The Vienna Gelato Trifecta at and around Schwedenplatz

Eissalon am Schwedenplatz

Eissalon am Schwedenplatz has the best gelato in the Schwedenplatz area and probably has since it opened in 1886. The flavor, texture and overall quality are unbeatable. The shop is closed in the off season, but it is always buzzing with customers when open.
Recommended Flavors: Pralinata, Crème Mango, Schokobanane

Zanoni & Zanoni

Zanoni & Zanoni is second best among the three Schwedenplataz area gelato establishments. An outdoor shaded seating area with a high-tech cooling system is a perk. Zanoni’s also beats the competition with its availability and convenience. It is open 365 days out of the year and is the shortest walk from Stephansdom.
Recommended Flavors: Nougat, Himbeer

Fratelli Eis

Fratelli Eis is the newer gelato provider on the Schwedenplatz block and third best among the three. However, it is probably the best value. Fratelli dishes out a much bigger portion for the price. As an added bonus, Fratelli’s air-conditioned interior provides guests with the joy of watching entertainment on the wall-mounted flat screens while they eat. The shop is also open 365 days out of the year.
Recommended Flavors: Biscotto, Mozart
