English Church Services in Vienna

Votivkirche
A Catholic mass in English takes place every Sunday at 11 am in Vienna’s Votivkirche. The service usually lasts about 1 hour and visitors are made to feel very welcome. The priest there, Father Kevin, likes to introduce himself to new people before each mass and help them meet other people in the church community.
In addition to celebrating the Eucharist, attending a mass in the Votivkirche provides an excellent opportunity to see one of Vienna’s oldest and most impressive churches. The church was built in the neo-Gothic style in 1853 to celebrate Emporer Franz Joseph’s survival of an assassination attempt. Don’t miss the beautiful stained glass rose window above the main entrance.
To get there, take the U2 metro or trams 1 or 2 to Schottentor station. The church, located at Rooseveltplatz 8, is visible from outside the station. For more information about the Votivkirche and other English-speaking church services in Vienna, please visit www.vescc.org and Virtual Vienna.
