High-Quality Free Concert in a Stunning Vienna Church
A perk of being in Vienna is that you can almost always catch a free concert in one of the many churches and cathedrals throughout the city. The music is often near-professional and the price can’t be beat.
One such performance takes place this Tuesday evening at 7 pm in the Peterskirche (Petersplatz 6, 1st district), in the city center. Students of the Diocesan Conservatory for Church Music of the Vienna Archdiocese (“Dioezesan Konservatorium fuer Kirchenmmusik der Erzdioezese Wien” in German) will treat the public to a sampling of their talent.
The program includes sung romantic works by Bellini and Mussorgsky and instrumental pieces by Flor Peeters. Arrive early to secure a seat. In addition the music, the event provides a great opportunity to see one of Vienna's most glorious churches, Peterskirche. Built snugly between two other buildings, the church is heralded as a must-see feat of architecture.
