Montreal's Best Souvlaki: Vol. I Kojax

So, it came to me the other day that I should go on a city-wide hunt for the best souvlaki in town. So, here is the first in a series on our city's version of this fast-food treat!

Kojax is probably Montreal's most prolific souvlaki place. They are in most of the major shopping centres around town and have a couple of 'stand alone' locations throughout the city. It was a natural start to my search for the best souvlaki in town.

I'm going to go with the standard souvlaki pita (pork, not chicken) at all the places and compare meat, bread, sauce, and extras with each one. Here's my take on Kojax:

Meat: tender (especially for pork) and tasy
Pita Bread: slightly soggy, but not rubbery like it can be sometimes
Tsatziki Sauce: unobtrusive (i.e. a bit bland) with only a slight garlic 'bite'

Extras: I had a trio, souvlaki-fries-coke ... the fries are home-style, VERY greasy and with a slightly undercooked potato taste.

Not a bad sandwich, but I know that there is much better eating out there. I'll find it, i promise!

FYI - I was at the Carrefour Angrignon location. I'm not sure to what extent the quality varies from place to place.
