Body Worlds 2 at Montreal Science Center starting May 10th

If you're unfamiliar with Dr. von Hagens' work, perhaps you've heard his world traveling body exhibition called "Body World." Bringing forth a new way to look at human anatomy and biology, "Body World" consists of real preserved bodies, often stripped of their outerskin layers revealing in amazing detail of the inner workings of the human body.

What makes this exhibition even more astonishing are the positions of the bodies performing common activities such as jumping, kicking, playing a sport or instrument, all depicting typical human body behaviors. Dr. von Hagens' work isn't meant only to shock but also educate people on the human's biological and neurobiological systems. From hearts, stomach, to the entire nervous system, people will have plenty to learn and gawk about in the couple of weeks to come.
The exhibition will be held at the Montreal Science Center in the Old Port (right next to Cirque du Soleil's Big Top). It will be open all summer long from May 10th to September 16th, 2007. Tickets are available for purchase on site or online. Please visit their website for more information.

Nearest accessible metro: Champs de Mars, Place D'armes.

Oh man, I want to go see this so bad...but people I ask to go with me all seem to be freaked out when I tell them that its basically bodies stripped of skin up for display. I mean really, it's not THAT freaky...is it :/

Same here! Apparently not a lot of people are into seeing "real" bodies demasked, lol. It is kinda weird, but I find it fascinating nonetheless. I'll try to make a trip to the exhibition soon.
