Juliette & Chocolat: designer cups
Juliette & Chocolat. 1615 rue St-Denis, Montréal
This place screams: "Eat 'till it hurts!". My belly hurt, my teeth hurt, I had a RAGING sugar high, and I was happier that the proverbial pig in sh&*t. What a way to kick off Easter weekend.
Juliette & Chocolat are known for their divine, high-end ,designer cups of hot chocolaty love. You can get a whole range of types, from smooth milk-chocolate to 90% cocoa. This isn't your grandma's 9 year old can of Quick, believe me. I had the 72% cocoa "a l'ancienne" and a triple chocolate crepe. The latter, thankfully, I was able to share.
Also on the menu are various crepes and other desserts. For those of you wanting something a little savoury to go along with your sweets you can also enjoy a basic lunch menu (I didn't go for that though).
The downside is that the place is very popular, so be prepared to wait a bit at the door on a busy evening. The upside, is pretty much everything else.
In case you're concerned, my belly and teeth no longer hurt and the sugar hangover is gone. It's still worth a visit, but I might give it a couple of days before going back!
