Rockaberry's Pies in the Skies

Pies you say? Rockaberry is it. Pies galore are lined up in a large glass viewing case, taller than your average homemade pie, and perhaps 100 times more sugar...but then, how can you not indulge yourself?
Now expanding to several locations, most locations have attracted a good number of clients over the years. The oldest and neighborhood favorite is on Queen Mary, and the St-Denis location is usually jampacked in the summer. The Langelier location is quite large and spacious with attractive decor including a large projecting screen showing the latest hockey game.
For a piece of pie, this place sure isn't cheap on quantity. In fact, Rockaberry is very well known in giving very generous pieces of pie, around 1/6th of a 10inch pie for $6. They also have an assorted list of non-pie items such as sandwiches, pasta, hamburgers and hot plates. There are also combos you can take to save on a couple of bucks, but always make sure you get a piece of pie included in your meal. A trip to Rockaberry is useless unless you eat their pies!

There's a wide variety to choose from including non-traditional pies that derive from cheesecakes and brownies. I haven't tried everything on the menu, but my personal favorite is "Rockabrownie." A chocolate concoction of a brownie base, with light chocolate cream, whip cream, and little bits of soft oreo-like cookies to finish off the top. Divine is what comes to mind.

My next favorite is the Apple Crumble, Rockaberry's signature crusted pies are one of the best. Even after licking the last remains of your dish, you feel like you haven't gotten enough crust and yearn for more. Accompanying "crumble pies" are usually a scoop or two of vanilla ice cream, clearly a diabetic's Achilles' heel.
This pie haven is a perfect place to meet up with friends and hang out, whether you're downtown, in the East, in the West-Island, Rockaberry is always close by.
