Home of Cirque Du Soleil

If you're one of the lucky people who can afford to see something truly unique, there's none other than world-reknown Cirque Du Soleil. A story of humble beginnings as simple street performers in Montreal, morphing over the years as the leading circus company in the world. With 7 travelling shows and 6 permanent shows residing in Las Vegas and Disney World, the shows contain a slew of performers from all corners of the world, designers with the wildest imaginations and music that will haunt you for years to come. There's truly no other circus experience as Cirque Du Soleil.

Recently, every 2 years, creators of the shows are cooking up their latest creations to grace the Grand Chapiteau (Big Top) once more in the Old Port of Montreal. In 2005, Corteo entertained crowds of all ages and sold out their Montreal shows in mere days. Their yet untitled project this year, codenamed "Cirque 2007," will be unveiled in April throughout June before going on their first North American tour. If you're in town during these months, make sure to purchase your tickets as soon as possible, or to save you the trouble, purchase tickets through their website and check how many seats are left and choose where you can sit.

Expect more shows popping up on the Las Vegas strip, but rest assured that locals and visitors here in Montreal will always be treated for the latest innovations. Our city has always had a special treat from Cirque, especially in 2004 during the 25th anniversary of the Jazz Festival and Cirque du Soleil's 20th anniversary called "Midnight Sun," a nightly celebration of music, performances, and various acts. You definitely shouldn't miss out on their shows!
