Dress warm!
If you want to enjoy your time in Montreal you have to dress warm enough. There is just no way around it. A great place to find beautiful sweaters, socks, gloves, shawls etc..Is a great little boutique called Alpaqa, located on Duluth St. in the very cool Plateau Mont-Royal area. They offer a great variety of Fair-traded alpaca wool items. The Alpaca is a kind of andean lama whose wool is warmer than sheep's and does not itch or prickle. This boutique is run by a very dedicated family who travel to Peru every year to meet with cooperatives that produce and knit what you find in the store. You can find very stylish ladies sweaters, sturdy fully-lined hoodies (so warm!), gloves, ponchos, crafts and the cutest kids clothes I have ever seen! This is definitely a great plave to pick up gifts that will be used and appreciated by all!
