Montreal Fashion Week

Twice a year, Sensation Mode organizes the most anticipated fashion events of the city including the popular Fashion & Design Festival in June. But during the Spring and Fall, like the fashion powerhouses New York, Paris, Milan and London, Montreal holds its own fashion week.
Starting Monday, March 19th to March 23rd, fashion enthusiasts will be treated to the newest collections from local designers for Fall 2007. As always, fashion designers hold new season collections 6 months prior to the launch of the actual season. Buyers, professionals and media industries are invited to attend this prestigious celebration of up and coming new designers amongst the well-known household names such as Dinh Ba, Rudsak, and Foxy Jeans. This year, the MFW will be held at the old Imperial cinema on Bleury.

But for regular folks who aren't in the fashion industry rarely have a chance to see what goes onto the catwalks aside from watching a few seconds of it on FashionFile. Sensation Mode was very well of this, and so organized the highly anticipated event of the summer, the Fashion and Design Festival. A week long event held outdoors on McGill College between Maisonneuve and St-Catherine, with 2 stages, beauty booths, terrases and live entertainment. This festival gives the public a glimpse to be upclose to catwalk and letting all amateur photographers have their chance in photographing models working the catwalk, while invited musical guests serenade the crowds. Pop/rock bands like Mobile and local Quebec singer Stefie Shock have graced the stage with their radio-catchy tunes, keeping each fashion show alive and pumping. There are also model search, makeovers, free giveaways, free concerts, and free photoshoots for the crowd to experience.
For aspiring fashion enthusiasts who wish to part take in Montreal's fashion scene, the MFW is a must. For those of us who can't afford such luxury, you can always count on the summer festival to pick up your fashion spirits for free. These are truly events not to be missed. So mark your calendars!
