Git Yer Shamrock On!

Ah St-Patrick's Day.

It's probably the only holiday that will allow you to drink in the streets, bar hop, and kiss strangers in broad daylight. Ok, maybe not the kissing the strangers part, but there's a possibility for people to be drunk, so who knows!

Every year, Montreal's Irish community organizes one of the most popular parades which is, of course, the St-Patrick's Day parade. The route stretches for the most part of downtown St-Catherine from Rue Du Fort to St-Urbain (that's from Guy-Concordia to Place-des-Arts metro for you subway folks). There'll be an array of floats, cars, and bands walking down the street playing music, dancing, with some high energy Irish spirit. But unlike New Orleans' St-Patrick's day parade, viewers won't be treated with shiny green beads or an assortment of thrown vegetables (I kid you not!), but they can expect lots of bar hoppers going from pub to pub, and green happy families on the sidelines.

If you're in the area, make sure to visit Montreal's most famous Irish pub, McKibbin's Irish Pub. This lively pub will surely keep you and your friends entertained during St-Paddy's Day weekend.

So enjoy the light weather, come out St-Patrick's Day and have some fun!
