Spacco Restaurant and Bar

Spacco - frontLiving in the Yonge and Eglinton area, I have an endless choice of restaurants and boutiques to go too. Not so much in the way of nightlife. I find Yonge and Eg to be a vibrant part of Toronto and with so many young people living in the 'hood, it would be nice to have a few options to drink and ...

Local 4 a Local Favourite

One of our favourite nearby eateries is the Local 4, an intimate, cozy little restaurant/pub just off of Younge St., near the Wellesley intersection. Named for it’s street number, 4 Dundonald, it can be found in a little white house with a small patio out front, covered in greenery during the summer months. Inside, the lightening is low and subdued, music eclectic but unobtrusive, and a reasonably priced ...

Big Daddy's

I went to Big Daddy's last night for a retirement party. It is located on King Street West, close to the financial and entertainment districts.

It had a fun atmosphere and the presentation of the food was perfect. There was obviously a lot of seafood on the menu, it is an oyster bar after all. But there were also options for people not interested in seafood. There was pasta, chicken and ...

Pool tables, dancing and drinking: Andy Poolhall

Andy Poolhall

I don't really remember how I stumbled upon this lively, hip little place near Bathurst and College - but we've had an on/off again love affair for a couple ...

C’est What? An Excellent Bar and Restaurant in St. Lawrence Market District

C’est What? can be found in the basement of a historic building located on Front St. E. in the St. Lawrence Market district, and has been providing a warm, relaxed atmosphere to unwind in after work since 1988. A diverse range of beers and wines, especially generous in selection from local vineyards and micro breweries, accompanies a well-rounded ‘ethno-eclectic’ menu, putting a delicious spin on standard pub fare. ...

Lula Lounge: Muy Caliente!

Front of Lula Lounge

I've been to Cuba a couple of times (and off to Varadero in 3 weeks!) and I've always said to myself after coming back that I would love Toronto to have a lounge that played Cuban music. Well, I didn't have to look too far. On the corner of Dufferin and Dundas is Lula Lounge.

Last night, Lula held a ...

The Rose & Crown: Friendly neighborhood pub at Yonge & Eg!

Rose and Crown logo

Yonge and Eglinton: Most people see this uptown Toronto area as posh with expensive little Italian restaurants and chic boutiques. In the midst of the swankiness is The Rose & Crown - a cozy, comforable pub sans attitude. Great staff, affordable and the grub is delicious (try their nachos with chili)! The kitchen is open till ...
