Dundas Square

Yonge & Dundas square is right in the middle of the action. Anyone visiting Toronto will most likely pass by this square, or even attend one of the many events that are held here. There are also ticket booths set up in the square that sell tickets for Toronto tours as well as for shows around the city. The square is located right across the street from the Eaton Centre (another must visit location while in the city). During days when the sun is out and nothing else is happening in the square, chairs and tables are set up welcoming pedestrians to take a seat, or have a chat with friends. Fountains spray up water, a fun relief from the heat for children to run through.
The square is alive with the sound of local street performers and tourists milling around. Free concerts are held here, as well as other special events. The surrounding area is filled with stores and it is in close proximity to Ryerson University. The canon theatre is just a few steps down the street.
Yonge & Dundas square is undergoing a massive renovation at the moment. A new multimedia complex is being built right beside the square. It will be a home for movie theatres, shops and have various other uses. It will be interesting to see the changes this landmark takes on in the next couple years.
