Pool tables, dancing and drinking: Andy Poolhall

Andy Poolhall

I can't tell you how many times I've told myself "ok, we are not going to drink too much tonight" as I walk through one of my favorite lounges in Toronto, Andy PoolHall. I don't really remember how I stumbled upon this lively, hip little place near Bathurst and College - but we've had an on/off again love affair for a couple of years and it's always been great times.

Andy's (as I affectionately call it) is a small, groovy, intimate place for those who want to play pool, dance or just sit around with friends and make new ones. Casual atmoshphere - not intimdating at all. The crowd is unpretentious, happy, outgoing and just plain fun. It has a funky 60s decor that I absolutely love. Its has 5 pool tables, a small dance floor and plenty of sitting space. The place does get quite busy on Saturday nights, so get there early. The only beef I have with Andy's is the women's washroom. Its tiny, cramped and always busy. Aside from that, its a fantastic place for a night out. Andy's is open every night except Sundays and each night is different. They have a sister bar called Ciao Eddie Roxx right next door, which is geared more towards the indie/rock crowd.

There is a cover during the weekends that can range from $5-$20 depending on the event. Andy Poolhall is located at 489 College Street and open fron Monday - Friday: 7pm-2am and Saturdays: 6pm-2am.
