Find aBUNdant sweets at the Furama Cake and Desserts Garden

As awful as that pun is, the Furama Cake and Desserts Garden on Spadina Ave. is famous in the Chinatown district for its deliciously decadent baked goods. Its small, inconspicuous storefront adjacent to the Chinatown Centre attracts customers from across the GTA, and is often filled to overflowing at mealtimes . Staff are quick and efficient however, so there’s never a long wait to cash out, and empty shelves are constantly restocked. Running the gambit from savoury to sweet, Furama offers an enormous range of buns, cakes, tarts and pastries. Savoury BBQ pork buns, egg tarts and cream-filled pastries are must-haves, and their fruit and cream cakes and custards are divine in their lightness, without the overwhelming sweetness often found in similar western desserts. The prices are unbeatable, especially when you compare the freshness and quality to desserts offered by most large chain coffee shops at three times the price. While this isn’t a destination for the calorie-conscious (and most bakeries aren’t) Furama is nonetheless a great place to find the perfect confection for any special occasion.

Location: 248-250 Spadina Ave.

I LOVE Furama! There is one also downtown at 130 Adelaide Street West, or at least in the undergroud there.

My favorite dessert there is the almond twist - so yum!! I am working up at the Yonge/Eg area so no Furama for me and my butt is too lazy to go down to Chinatown!!

Great post!
