A Good Indian Restaurant in a Toronto Suburb

There are good Indian restaurants all over the city of Toronto, and in time this blog will probably end up covering most of them! =)

One good one that you'll find is a place called Bombay Palace - there are actually two of them in Toronto, but the one I'm talking about here is the one located in Scarborough, one of the more residential areas of Toronto.  It's an all-you-can-eat buffet, with both meat and vegetable options, at a very reasonable price.

The decor inside is noticeably South Asian, but not overbearingly so.  The smell of spices commonly used in Indian cooking combined with softly played music and a few decorative items are enough to provide just a hint of authenticity.  The food, while not the best, is of a quality that's to be expected with lower-priced all-you-can-eat buffet style restaurants.

The meat dishes usually include a chicken and beef dish, along with a lamb dish and one other variety dish that's changed from day to day.  One dish you'll find there every day is their butter chicken, as well as their ground beef and pea curry.  Channa Masala and potato curry are normal dishes that the vegetarian people in your group can enjoy.

For dessert, they usually offer a rice pudding and some ice cream, as well as Ghulaab Jamu, a sweet Indian sugar-soaked pastry commonly served in Indian restaurants.

So, if you find yourself out in the Scarborough area and on a lower budget, give Bombay Palace a try!
