High Tea At Zoé’s
Sunday afternoon we indulged in High Tea at Zoé's in the Chateau Laurier (http://www.fairmont.com/laurier/GuestServices/Restaurants/ZoesLounge.htm). Truly it is like stepping back in time. As we walked through the front doors of the hotel and into the elegant lounge with its high ceilings, polished wood and marble, huge potted plants and discreetly attentive servers we felt as if we have traveled to an earlier era.
The tea itself was served from a handsome trolley from which we made our own personal selections. Hot water is poured over the loose leaves and we were presented a personal pot of tea. The accompanying meal - a fruit cup followed by a three-tiered selection of sandwiches, scones, and desserts - ranged from the Traditional, to the Canadian, or for those feeling fancy the Champagne.
All that is required after this was for us to enjoy. Truly we managed to pass a good two and a half hours sipping, nibbling and chatting. From what I could see of the other tables (the set up of the space allows for a great deal of room between them) the rest of the guest seemed happily passing their time in a similar fashion.
