Su Su Sushi O!
Simply stated, the difficulty we find with sushi restaurants in Ottawa usually has to do with the cheap and the good. Specifically, sushi that is good is often not cheap and sushi that is cheap is often not good. Despair not sushi lovers, for there is a new place in town we highly recommend.
Sushi Kan, 1280 Baseline Road, features all-u-can-eat sushi. For lunch we indulged in numerous appetizers, various sushi rolls, as well as a plate of sushi, beverages (non-alcoholic) and mango ice cream for dessert. The house Sushi Kan Roll (tempura shrimp with cucumber and fish eggs) is very good, as well as the Rainbow Roll (salmon, tuna, snapper, avocado on top of a California Roll). The salmon sushi practically melts in your mouth it is that fresh. All this for only $12.99 per person (dinner starts at $19.99).
The service was impeccable, if a bit slow at times. This, however, is because everything is freshly prepared - hardly something to complain about. You can eat as much as you want, everything is the up side of this is that in no way did we feel rushed. Even for those who find the idea of raw seafood less than appetizing, there are a number of Tempura, grilled, and fried items.
