This attraction is located on Clifton Hill, the popular tourist district in Niagara Falls, Ontario. If you have a Lego fan in your family, you might want to plan a short visit to Lego Brick City. The display is entirely made from Lego bricks, and includes Niagara Falls, the CN Tower, Statue of Liberty, and Golden Gate Bridge. There is also an area where children can play with Lego. However, don't come expecting a theme park experience like Lego Land in California, and don't even expect to find a gift shop selling Lego.

Located on Clifton Hill. Summer hours are 9:00 am to 2:00 am.

Admission prices:

Adults $7.99

Seniors/Students $7.49

Children $6.99

Under 4 years Free

Look for coupon booklets with $1.00 off coupons for this attraction; find them in most tourist districts (hotels, restaurants, etc.).

The Falls Incline Railway has been transporting visitors up and down the hillside since 1966. The service costs $2.00 per person each way (for all ages; 5 and under are free). The incline railway cars smoothly and slowly climb or descend the 100 feet of the embankment. Although the trip only takes one minute per way, expect the total one-way trip to take 10 minutes of so, keeping in mind the time to wait in the line, and then the wait in the car until all the seats are full.

The fare for the Incline Railway (unlimited rides) is also included as part of the Niagara Falls & Great Gorge Adventure Pass.

The Maid of the Mist is North America’s oldest tourist attraction. Visitors to Niagara Falls have enjoyed these boat tours since 1846. The boat tours leave from both the Canadian side and the American side of Niagara Falls. It has been reported in recent years that the Canadian side has much longer lines and is much more crowded than the American side.

There are two Canadian Maid of the Mist boats, the Maids VI and VII. Each boat holds 600 passengers, and takes you past the base of the American Falls, then into the basin of the magnificent Horseshoe Falls. Each trip takes about 30 minutes. Maid of the Mist operates from late April/early May (depending on weather) to mid-October each year. Souvenir rain ponchos are provided free with admission to help keep you dry from the mist and spray.

The entrance for Canadian departures for Maid of the Mist is at 5920 Niagara Parkway, Niagara Falls, Ontario, near the foot of the Clifton Hill tourist area. American departures are from Niagara Falls State Park, Niagara Falls, New York, near the Rainbow Bridge.

Admission prices for both the Canadian and American Maid of the Mist:

From the Canadian side:
Adults (13+ years) $14.00 (Canadian funds)
Children (6 to 12) $8.60
Children 5 and under are free

From the American side:
Adults (13+ years) $12.50 (American funds)
Children (6 to 12) $7.30
Children 5 and under are free

2007 marks the 10th anniversary of the Niagara Parks Butterfly Conservatory. This popular attraction is located about 10 minutes north of the Niagara Falls tourist district, at 2405 Niagara Parkway, on the grounds of the Niagara Parks Botanical Gardens and School of Horticulture.

Over 2,000 colourful tropical butterflies are in free flight in the conservatory, floating freely among lush, exotic blossoms and greenery. There are pathways winding through the rainforest setting, including a pond and a waterfall. Photo opportunities are plenty, as butterflies frequently land on visitors. Some people think wearing bright colours such as red or yellow will attract more butterflies to land on you! There is a gift shop and a snack bar on site, as well. Before or after your visit to see the butterflies, take time to visit the botanical gardens.

The Butterfly Conservatory is open daily (except December 25), from 9 a.m. until 8 p.m. or 9 p.m. in summer months, with earlier closing times in the off-season.

Admission prices are:
$11.00 Adults (13+ years)
$6.50 Children (6 to 12 years)
Children 5 and under are free

Admission to the Butterfly Conservatory is also part of the Niagara Falls & Great Gorge Adventure Pass.

ILLUMINATION: A definite highlight for many visitors to Niagara Falls is to view the splendour of the Falls in the evening, when they are illuminated by multi-coloured lights. The usual colour scheme is a spectrum of rainbow colours. Recently, the Falls have had special illumination nights to pay tribute to special causes or events. In October, 2006, the Falls glowed a beautiful pink for Breast Cancer Awareness, and in April, 2007, the school colours (orange/maroon) of Virginia Tech were displayed to pay tribute to the lives lost in the recent tragedy at that school.

The Summer 2007 schedule for the Illumination of the Falls is:

May 1 to August 16: 9:00 p.m. - Midnight
August 17 to September 30: 8:30 p.m. - Midnight
October 1 to October 31: 7:00 p.m. - Midnight
November 1 to November 2: 6:30 p.m. - Midnight
November 3 to December 30: 5:00 p.m. - Midnight
December 31: 5:00 p.m. - 1:00 a.m.

FIREWORKS: An extra special treat for evening visitors to the Falls during the summer months are the free fireworks displays, presented by Pizza Pizza, held on Fridays, Sundays and Wednesdays, as well as on holiday evenings. The displays are scheduled for 10:00 p.m., weather permitting.

The 2007 schedule for the Fireworks over the Falls is:

Every Friday and Sunday from May 18 until September 2. Also, every Wednesday during July and August. Early autumn brings fireworks on Fridays only from September 7 to October 5. Special fireworks displays are also held on Canadian and U.S. holidays: May 21 (Victoria Day), May 28 (Memorial Day – U.S.), July 1 (Canada Day), July 4 (Independence Day – U.S.), August 6 (Civic Holiday).

Also, from May 18 to September 2, don’t miss the free concerts (presented by Coca-Cola) which are held on Fridays and Sundays at Queen Victoria Place (close to the Horseshoe Falls), from 8:00 p.m. until the fireworks begin at 10:00 p.m.

If there is one place you should not miss during your stay in Niagara Falls, it is Clifton Hill. Located one block from the Niagara Falls, Clifton hill is a street, the “tourist district” of the Falls, if you will.

Experience the SkyWheel - a Ferris wheel that towers over the Niagara Falls skyline at 175 feet, while you sit in an encased gondola with air conditioning, heat, and a phone.

If you are a fan of museums, be sure to check out the Movieland Wax Museum, Guinness World Record Museum, Louis Tussauds and Ripley’s Believe it or Not. Each museum has its own unique features, and everyone from celebrities to religious figures, heroes to villains are displayed.

Dinosaur Park is located at the top of the Hill, and gives a great look into prehistoric times. Located on a mini-putt course, it is fun for all ages.

The Great Canadian Midway is more than an arcade. It has a roller coaster, 3D theatre, table games, bowling, pool, motion simulators, and any game you’d see at an average carnival…indoors.

Also don’t forget to stop by the WWE, Hershey’s, Coca-Cola, Harley Davidson and MGM Grand stores. And how can I forget Lego Land? An entire “city” made from the same Legos you played with as a child!

Be sure to park a couple blocks away and enjoy the Hill on foot, because there’s very little chance you’ll find a spot to park on the Hill anyway! It will also allow you to be able to see everything Clifton Hill has to offer without missing a thing.

It’s the brightest and most exciting place in Niagara Falls. Have fun!

The Dining Room is at the top of the tower in the Dome. To reach it, you can take the “yellow bug”-an elevator with windows located on the outside of the tower. The Dome has 3 levels. It includes shops, an observation deck, and of course, the Revolving Dining Room.

The Dining Room, in my opinion, is the best restaurant in town. It is warm and inviting, accented in brass and granite and boasts an award-winning menu and even a dance floor. The restaurant turns comfortably at one rotation per hour. The windows are made from a special gray glass to reduce glare and allow for excellent photographs.

While you’re there, you might as well stroll outside to the Observation Deck. On a clear day you can not only see the most of southern Ontario and Buffalo, NY, but you’ll also be able to take in Toronto’s skyline (which is a 90 minute drive away!).

And don’t get me started on the view at night when the waterfall is illuminated…breathtaking!

Bottom line: an amazing experience, a must for anyone visiting the city, high-quality food and a view you won’t get anywhere else in the city.
