Niagara Parks Butterfly Conservatory
2007 marks the 10th anniversary of the Niagara Parks Butterfly Conservatory. This popular attraction is located about 10 minutes north of the Niagara Falls tourist district, at 2405 Niagara Parkway, on the grounds of the Niagara Parks Botanical Gardens and School of Horticulture.
Over 2,000 colourful tropical butterflies are in free flight in the conservatory, floating freely among lush, exotic blossoms and greenery. There are pathways winding through the rainforest setting, including a pond and a waterfall. Photo opportunities are plenty, as butterflies frequently land on visitors. Some people think wearing bright colours such as red or yellow will attract more butterflies to land on you! There is a gift shop and a snack bar on site, as well. Before or after your visit to see the butterflies, take time to visit the botanical gardens.
The Butterfly Conservatory is open daily (except December 25), from 9 a.m. until 8 p.m. or 9 p.m. in summer months, with earlier closing times in the off-season.
Admission prices are:
$11.00 Adults (13+ years)
$6.50 Children (6 to 12 years)
Children 5 and under are free
Admission to the Butterfly Conservatory is also part of the Niagara Falls & Great Gorge Adventure Pass.
