Snow in Victoria

A fabled place to many Canadians Victoria is on Vancouver Island in the province of British Columbia Canada. The very name evokes a sigh. The one place in Canada that doesn't have to deal with winter. Well, we did have snow this week and we did have to deal with winter.

The rest of Canada thinks that we don't know what snow tires are. Our climate is so mild that we rarely have ice, we have roses 10 months a year and 8 frost free months. Victoria is a favoured child when it comes to climate and seaside charm.

Clothing. What kind of clothing should I bring to wear in Victoria B.C Canada?

Victoria us definitely a business casual city. West Coast relaxed. You will feel comfortable with dressing either up or down. Bring a sweater or jacket for evening wear in the summer, and warm outer wear for the chilly months of Nov. through March. It rarely snows in the city but warm footwear is advised. Bring your walking shoes. Victoria is a city of strollers. Walking for pleasure is a year around activity in Victoria. Rain-wear is also advisable in the winter and Spring. You may want to get out and enjoy bird watching or a walk on the beach on a rainy day.

There are many great clothing shopping opportunities in the city, so be sure to check the shops to see if there is any thing that you like. Of course just a reminder to bring clothing that is appropriate to the activities that and your family will be participating in.
