Mid-April--- and still snowing!

The annual Telus World Ski & Snowboard Festival kicked off at Whistler Resort this past Friday, but some of us weren't there for the entertainment.

Saturday morning saw 22 cm of fresh snow. It was a powdery, but not too powdery, haven for those too few who made their way out of the pubs and up the mountain. Runs were wide-open fields of play. Lift lines were virtually non-existent. The weather ...

Springtime in Stanley Park

It's springtime in Vancouver and there's no better way to enjoy it then a walk through Stanley Park.  My favorite walking rout begins in the heart of the West End at English Bay Beach.  Take the Sea Wall and walk to Second Beach.  Families with children will enjoy the playground and outdoor pool at Second Beach (pool not open till the warmer summer months).  From Second Beach take the walking ...

The heat is unbearable...

End the Heat
If you find yourself in downtown Vancouver this coming Saturday April 14th, you may notice a large group of people congregated around the Vancouver Art Gallery between 11am-3pm.

Both the North Shore mountains and Whistler have felt stellar seasons ...

Proof of Spring in Vancouver

In fact, as you can see from images here, those of us living on the ‘wet’-coast have been dealing with massive flooding and record rainfall this past ...

Vancouver's Crazy Weather - Tour of Stanley Park

We are proud of our provincial motto "Beautiful British Columbia". And it really is beautiful in virtually every corner of Canada's westernmost province. Our weather, however, has not been quite so beautiful these days.

A few weeks ago we got dumped on with snow which is on the rare-side here in Vancouver. Temperatures have been extremely variable, and recent gale-force winds have ripped trees down from their roots all over ...

Vancouver's Rain is Frozen

Many of us locals in Vancouver moved here to escape the clutches of the standard Canadian winter. No one likes to be stereotyped, but we have to admit that the term "Great White North" was coined for good reason. Vancouver has always offered respite from the snowy experience of our brothers and sisters across the nation. That is, until this week. ...
