Mexican restaurant in Vancouver

I am not sure if I should write about 'not so good' restaurant reviews since my goal is to promote Vancouver. But I feel obligated to 'spread the words' if I do come across 'not so good' restaurants.

And today I must. The story is in the past few days I had been bed arrest due to an emergency surgery. Tired from staying indoor, and was well enough to walk a ...

A taste of Africa in Vancouver

If you are like me and love to find new spots to eat out at, you just have to make your way to the Afro-Canadian Restuarant on Cambie.
It's a modest establishment decorated with African pictures and hangings. Bob Marley or other African beats play on the stereo. The owner will greet you with a smile and warm hello. But it's the food that delights most.
The menu is filled with ...

Chill Winston

Working near Gastown means lunches in Gastown on sunny days. I have walked up and down Gastown many times and all the sudden, Chill Winston popped up. I could not recall when Chill Winston opened its door, I really should pay more attention to the neighbourhood.

First visited to Chill Winston was about 2 months ago and had their Braised Ribs. Oh heaven! It was soooooo delicious. It was the best ...

Monday, April 23rd - The Most Important Night in Vancouver Thus Far in the Year?

On Monday, April 23rd, the Vancouver Canucks will face the Dallas Stars in an epic battle of Game Seven.

With two chances to eliminate the almighty Stars from Dallas, the Vancouver Canucks are desperate for a win, or simply just to score a goal, as the past two outings for the Canucks have resulted in scoreless hockey.

With what should be an interesting night of hockey, be sure to be in the ...

Skytrain Tour Of Vancouver Shopping Malls

If you are a shopper, you need to know how easy it is to do a tour of Vancouver and Surrounding area malls on the Skytrain.

The beautify of the Skytrain is that it's easy to use, fast, and you never have to pay for parking.

Starting at Granville Station, you need only walk up and you are in Pacific Centre Mall. Form there, go ...

Go glowbal

In Vancouver, restaurants often try to deliver a wholly posh experience. Behind white-washed walls, clean lines, and an awning printed with a name that puns on our rapidly expanding and interconnected city, overpriced drinks and eclectic (read: bizarre) West Coast fare are delivered by servers whose attention span is as short as Tom Cruise's patience.

This is not the case at glowbal. Tucked in at 1049 Mainlaind Street, glowbal grill and ...

Denman Street in Vancouver - Part I

One of my favorite street for dining out is Denman Street in Downtown Vancouver, mainly because it is a pleasant street to stroll on and the street is full of interesting restaurants.

If you are coming from the Robson Street direction, you will first encounter "Simba", an East African barbecue fusion restaurant that offers meat, meat and more meat. A must try is the African version of french fries - "Mogo" - which are deep ...

There's a new Vancouver sushi restaurant!

Sonomama RestaurantVancouver is known for all of it's wonderful sushi restaurants. I've recently discovered a great new sushi restaurant downtown on Granville Street. It is called Sonomama. In Japanese, Sonomama means "as it is" and the chef does a great job of delivering dishes just as they are in Japan (tapas style).

The best time to visit Sonomama is during their cheaper lunch menu ...

8 Games Left: Vancouver at Los Angeles

Coming fresh off a 3-0 win vs. the Colorado Avalanche, the Vancouver Canucks have clinched a birth in the 2006-2007 Stanley Cup Playoffs.

On March 29th, the Canucks look to the L.A Kings in the hope of making their Northwest Division lead a little less stingy. With six games left, Vancouver has a one-point lead over Minnesota for the top spot in the division. The Wild have five games remaining.

While the ...

Dine Out For Life!

Dine Out For LifeIf you thought Vancouver only dined out for itself (i.e. Dine-Out Vancouver) then you pegged this city all wrong.

There is another reason to dine-out...for life! And this coming Thursday, March 29th, 2007 thousands will do so, filling their plates with fare from some of the city's finest restaurants, and all in support of local charities that provide assistance to those ...
