The best way to get close and personal with Vancouver’s natural splendor is on a kayak. It’s quite a bit different than a canoe, yet it is safer. My next several entries will feature different Restaurants/Bars/Pubs along the cool strip that is Commercial Drive.
This week's featured hang out: Stella's
Stella's is a primarily a Tapas bar and Belgium beer house. The clientele is mixed and there is always a significant lesbian contigent here, coming from all over the city. As well, the owners are committed to serving and expanding their number of queer girl customers as they say we ...

I just had surgery and am currently ordered by my doctor and my fiancé to stay in bed which is a perfect time to catch up on my writing.
Pre-surgery we had a chance to catch the show STOMP at the Center for Performing Art. I was super excited to see STOMP again. The first time I "enjoyed" STOMP was at a super small theatre in New York and it ...

If dancing is your thing (or watching other hot things shake their booty) here are a few suggestions; probably the best overall dance club in Vancouver is Celebrities, an old stand by in the heart of the gay community downtown, but nicely renovated after a fire. While Celebrities attracts a lot of queer men and women, lots of straight people frequent the dance floor here as well because the music ...

Like many cities, Vancouver's gay scene has a lot of actual venues specifically catering to the gay male population - men still earn more in general and tend to go out more often, thus supporting regular nightclubs and pubs.
There are however, a couple of major event companies that book ongoing lesbian oriented club nights and live music gigs. Check out these links below:

On Monday, April 23rd, the Vancouver Canucks will face the Dallas Stars in an epic battle of Game Seven.
With two chances to eliminate the almighty Stars from Dallas, the Vancouver Canucks are desperate for a win, or simply just to score a goal, as the past two outings for the Canucks have resulted in scoreless hockey.
With what should be an interesting night of hockey, be sure to be in the ...

A trip to Bowen Island makes a fantastic excursion out of Vancouver, especially now the weather has improved.
Some of the most spectacular views can be seen from the North summit of Mt Gardner, as pictured above, but there is a fair hike before you can enjoy the scenery. From the ferry landing point at Snug Cove, it is around an 11km round trip to ...
