Bars & Clubs in Vancouver

Hey ladies,
As promised, here is another one of my ongoing descriptions of places for girls who like girls.
Now it may not seem like much, being just a local neighbourhood pub, but Avantis on the Drive has a lot to be said for it and I will say it here for you:
o New flat screens TVs for watching your favourite sports & a juke box
o Very reasonably priced and decent pub food ...

My next several entries will feature different Restaurants/Bars/Pubs along the cool strip that is Commercial Drive.
This week's featured hang out: Stella's
Stella's is a primarily a Tapas bar and Belgium beer house. The clientele is mixed and there is always a significant lesbian contigent here, coming from all over the city. As well, the owners are committed to serving and expanding their number of queer girl customers as they say we ...

If dancing is your thing (or watching other hot things shake their booty) here are a few suggestions; probably the best overall dance club in Vancouver is Celebrities, an old stand by in the heart of the gay community downtown, but nicely renovated after a fire. While Celebrities attracts a lot of queer men and women, lots of straight people frequent the dance floor here as well because the music ...

Put one foot in front of the other, and get yourself down to Celebrities Night Club, where tonight Tiki Glam: A Fashion and Burlesque Show hits the stage!
Sweet Soul unveils its 55-piece spring/summer 2007 collection of fashions inspired by Polynesian Tiki, Hawaiian Beach, and Hollywood Glam styles. But that's not all, a line-up of burlesque performers will also strut their stuff upon the stage, with noticeably less of the fashion ...

Like many cities, Vancouver's gay scene has a lot of actual venues specifically catering to the gay male population - men still earn more in general and tend to go out more often, thus supporting regular nightclubs and pubs.
There are however, a couple of major event companies that book ongoing lesbian oriented club nights and live music gigs. Check out these links below:

On Monday, April 23rd, the Vancouver Canucks will face the Dallas Stars in an epic battle of Game Seven.
With two chances to eliminate the almighty Stars from Dallas, the Vancouver Canucks are desperate for a win, or simply just to score a goal, as the past two outings for the Canucks have resulted in scoreless hockey.
With what should be an interesting night of hockey, be sure to be in the ...

If you are looking for a fully laid-back place where you can hang out and not break your budget, the Cambie Pub is definitely the way to go. In fact, it's one of the few places in Vancouver where you can still get a pint of beer for $3.75!
And it epitomizes what Vancouver is-international. Just the other night, I went to the Cambie with a couple of British friends and we ...

Coming fresh off a 3-0 win vs. the Colorado Avalanche, the Vancouver Canucks have clinched a birth in the 2006-2007 Stanley Cup Playoffs.
On March 29th, the Canucks look to the L.A Kings in the hope of making their Northwest Division lead a little less stingy. With six games left, Vancouver has a one-point lead over Minnesota for the top spot in the division. The Wild have five games remaining.
While the ...

Welcome to UBC's biggest student party of the year - Arts County Fair (aka ACF). ACF is a day of beer, concerts, beer, DJ's and more beer. It is what many students look forward to all year long - the last day of classes! Or the last chance of the school year to not attend class. Either way you look at it, it is a lot of fun.
This years ...

I just found out that there are two Clove Restaurants in Vancouver, however the one I speak of is located at:
2054 Commercial Drive, Vancouver, BC 604-255-5550
The other location: (735 Denman Street, Vancouver, BC) is news to me. I was in the Commercial location last night, enjoying a dinner composed of: Bhaji's and Pakora's to start and Kofta as a main dish. I have enjoyed meals at ...
