Not only are they playing Christmas music in retail stores but I have actually seen Christmas lights on some homes. Maybe it is the political and economic climate that is stirring in people the desire for hope and peace. Perhaps it is the fact that Christmas seems to come earlier every year and this is okay ...

WARNING: There has been a pirate sighting in Stanley Park.

Apparently visitors riding the annual ‘Ghost Train' not only spotted these heathen sea bullies, but they were spooked by the sword fighting, rum guzzling, blood thirsty lot!

Every year around Halloween Stanley Park hosts a haunted outdoor event such as ...

Contrary to any images conjured by the name, Tea Swamp Park is no wetland. It is a beautiful, peaceful little park that doesn't see a lot of traffic, and it's perfect that way.
There are beautiful trees, beds upon beds of flowers, and peaceful benches. Locals like to sit on the benches and just take it all in.
Tea Swamp also has a small playground, and there are ...

Nestled in between Main and Cambie, along sixteenth avenue, Mount Pleasant Park offers a playground, monkey bars, and a community center with a pool.
The swimming pool is outdoor, so is only open during the summer months (when the city workers are not on strike, that is). It's a small pool, with grassed areas inside the fencing. It makes a nice ...

Whoever says that Yaletown is an uptight, stuffy neighbourhood needs to read this post.
On Saturday July 21 (from noon-6pm) Yaletown is hosting a free summer party for all. So what is there in Yaletown you ask. Well, there is a very large list of events. Aside from the usual DJ's, dance and music performances there ...

I simply love kayaking. I'm not a strong swimmer, but don't mind strapping myself into a slim fiberglass shell and paddling my way across the water. Strange, I know. But if you experience what I did last weekend at Deep Cove, you may understand.
It was a busy Saturday, so we were lucky we reserved our kayak. We took the double-kayak out of the Deep Cove launch and headed across the open ...

Anyone who has ever watched The Simpson's will appreciate seeing a real live Kwik-E-Mart right here in the lower mainland.
Yes it's true, you can buy pink donuts, just like on the show, and they temporarily renamed their Slurpees 'Squishees' just like on the show.
Why, you ask? It's part of a marketing campaign for the new Simpson's Movie. The movie is set to open on July 27, so ...

Vancouver is renowned for being a lush, green city. With the kids out of school, and tourist season kicking into full gear (if you doubt me, just hit Robson street on a Saturday afternoon), I thought it would be a good time to do a series on our wonderful parks.
Looking outside today, it's hard to imagine the long sunny days of summer, but I assure you, they are on their ...

Last night I finally have the pleasure to taste the food from Chef Rob Feenie's very own creation "Feenie's".
Feenie's is a total different atmosphere from Lumiere, THE upscale French cuisine restaurant. Feenie's is very casual, with down to earth menu (when I mean down to earth, I probably mean $$ more than the actual food menu). There is no 11 courses menu which takes 4 hours to finish ...
