Vancouver Parks: Chaldecott Spray Park
Vancouver is renowned for being a lush, green city. With the kids out of school, and tourist season kicking into full gear (if you doubt me, just hit Robson street on a Saturday afternoon), I thought it would be a good time to do a series on our wonderful parks.
Looking outside today, it's hard to imagine the long sunny days of summer, but I assure you, they are on their way. And when they come, it's nice to know where you can go to cool off, and get in a good play. One of my favourites is Chaldecott Park.
Chaldecott has a baseball diamond, a huge field, a playground, and (my favourite part) a spray park. Kids of all ages can run, climb, swing, and splash without leaving the area. There is a lot of big trees so you can have shade when you need it, and there are public washrooms on site.
Be forewarned, however: the ice cream truck comes by pretty much daily, so you may want to bring a little cash with you.
