10 Games Left: Vancouver @ Edmonton
Coming off a spectacular 4-1 win against the powerhouse Detroit Red Wings, the Vancouver Canucks look to extend their post-Christmas success against the struggling Edmonton Oilers.
A matchup with a last-place team, which is perhaps lacking motivation with the season winding down, gives the Canucks a good chance to build a cushion in the Northwest Division. The Edmonton Oilers seem particularly vulnerable right now.
The Canucks, trying to increase their slim lead in the division, look to hand the Oilers a club-record tying 11th straight loss when the teams conclude their season series tonight at Rexall Place.
With the Edmonton Oilers looking more like their AHL roster than an NHL caliber team, the Vancouver Canucks have their fair share of injuries as well. Ryan Kesler and Josh Green are both facing hip and knee injuries, respectively, while Sami Salo and Willie Mitchell are experiencing short-term groin strains.
If you are looking for a stellar place to catch the game tonight, try the Shark Club in Langley, just out of Vancouver. In the race for TSN's "Best Place to Watch Your Team" contest, the Shark Club offers a great atmosphere for Canuck fans alike.
Gametime is 6:00PM, and is being played in Edmonton, Alberta.
