All You Can Eat Sushi in Vancouver!
We live on Bowen Island, BC (a 20 minute ferry ride from Horseshoe Bay), and we are in Vancouver every Tuesday evening, indulging in all-you-can-eat sushi at Shabusen Japanese Restaurant. It's worth the drive from downtown Vancouver to the ferry terminal in West Van! For $20.95, you can order as much delicious, fresh salmon and tuna sashimi as you want, not to mention an assortment of rolls, appetizers, and cones. It's truly "all you can eat" - not like some Japanese restaurants that limit your portions of salmon and tuna. Plus, Shabusen offers Korean bbq - a small round bbq in the middle of the table, on which you can cook lamb, ribs, chicken, salmon, octopus, veggies, and steak. This is included in the price. We don't usually indulge in the bbq because the sashimi, edamame, rolls, and cones are more than enough - but the bbq is perfect for people who aren't big on sushi. I love the food, and the price is right. The service has been excellent (except for the last time we were there, I must admit. There was a huge party of Asian women; that threw off the service a bit. This was very unusual, though!). Once, we had to wait while our waiter went out to buy some red wine - they'd run out and forgot to stock it up again. There are two locations in Vancouver: 755 Burrard Street, Vancouver (604) 669-3883 and 2993 Granville Street, Vancouver (604) 737-6888. We always call ahead for reservations, which isn't necessary for our timing (5:30 pm), but would definitely be recommended for after 6 pm. Try it out - let me know how you like it!
