Sophia's Books - not just books
Sophia Books is located across the street from Harbour Centre on Hastings Street. It's a great little store that sells books in a variety of languages and often has books that other book store chains don't have. They sell interesting calendars, international music, handmade cards, postcards, bookmarks, notebooks and journals. You can find a nice selection of origami paper there as well.
Their customer service is very, very good. I was able to order a specialty craft book from Japan through them. They were happy to make the effort to special order the book for me.
They also have quite a large selection of international magazines from all over Asia and Europe with a variety of topics - fashion, photography, hobbies and crafts.
I usually go in to see what's new every couple of weeks or so as they regularly bring in new items. Just drop by and see!
