Hotel Celebrity Watch - Vancouver Style

Vancouver's stylish Opus Hotel is renowned for its personal brand of boutique service, its vibrant decor and design elements and for its top-rated and ultra popular Elixir Restaurant and Opus Bar.

Vancouver's Georgia Straight magazine recently reported in their 11th annual Readers' Choice "Best of Vancouver" feature that local Vancouverites know something about the Opus that you ...

Stepho's Souvlaki - Famous for being Famous

Pamela
You might know that Vancouver Island-born Pamela Anderson was "discovered" right here in Vancouver. The story is that she was caught on camera on the big screen at a B.C. Lions football game, and an advertising executive saw her image and tracked her down. The rest was Pammy and Kid Rock history.

Chinatown in Vancouver - Worth a Visit

Vancouver's Chinatown is North America's second largest Chinatown after San Francisco. Mandarin and Cantonese are the mother tongues in 30 per cent of Vancouver homes, which makes Chinese the largest "minority" ethnic group in the Lower Mainland.

A visit to downtown Vancouver's Chinatown will reveal lots of interesting sights. You'll find fresh food and cheap houseware markets and traditional Chinese medicine shops. On weekend evenings during the summer months, Keefer ...

Vancouver's Crazy Weather - Tour of Stanley Park

We are proud of our provincial motto "Beautiful British Columbia". And it really is beautiful in virtually every corner of Canada's westernmost province. Our weather, however, has not been quite so beautiful these days.

Getting There is Half the Fun

Although there are enough delights to experience in Vancouver to keep travellers busy for weeks, many visitors want to include overnight trips to areas like the Sunshine Coast or Victoria (B.C.'s capital city) in their itineraries. With half a dozen scenic Gulf Islands also highly worthy of exploring, it's hard to imagine a trip to Vancouver without taking ...

Fairmont's Hotel Vancouver in the Spotlight

Every year during the month of December, Fairmont Hotels & Resorts' venerable Hotel Vancouver flips the switch on its roof lights. Local Vancouverites have come to recognize this event as the beginning of the season's festivites...and the beginning of the year's shopping frenzy on nearby Robson street.

Opened for business in May of 1939 just in time ...

Snoop Dogg to hit Vancouver with guest Ice Cube

Forget Santa Clause...Snoop Dogg is coming to town.

No stranger to VanCity, Snoop is playing a big-arena show at the Pacific Coliseum on January 13th, 2007. Snoop has played here a number of times in a variety of venues: the Commodore Ballroom back in 2002, and before that with Eminem at G.M. Place for the Up in Smoke tour.

Vancouver Retail Hits the Jackpot - Tiffany's Arrives

When the Tiffany baby-blue hoarding walls were peeled back this week, the city joined the hallowed ranks of luxury retail cities such as New York, London, Paris, Hong Kong, San Francisco, and Toronto.

Solid Snow Base for Whistler Season Opener

Whistler and Blackcomb mountains are enjoying an awesome start to their winter season. The resort has been pummeled with a 21cm snow drop in the last 24 hours and 51 cm in the last 7 days which has packed a 164cm base for the season start. Not bad for this time of year!
