Le Triskell Creperie in Kelowna
While walking in downtown Kelowna one afternoon, I noticed a small, unassuming storefront. What caught my eye was the menu special for the day: The Chipmunk, a crepe stuffed with hazlenut filling and garnished with whipped cream for $6.95.
A couple of days later I decided to stop on by and check out the creperie for lunch. I've since become one of it's biggest local fans and have returned on several occasions.
Found at 467 Bernard Avenue [map], Le Triskell [250-763-5151] is an authentic French creperie, complete with French-speaking staff and owners (who do double duty in the kitchen). Ranging in price from $6.75 to a decadent $14.75, these crepes are not only much more filling than they at first appear, they are also a delight to the senses. So far my favorites have been the goat cheese and lox crepe for lunch, and the flaming apple dessert crepe for when I have a craving for something sweet.
Families are welcome at Le Triskell, as are those in need of wheelchair access. Their hours vary dramatically in the summer and winter, so be sure to call first.
