Melrose-Red Mile Headquarters
I was lucky enough to experience a Flames playoff game at Melrose on Thursday. Wow, was it ever an experience. THey have a zillion TV's all around, you dont even have to turn your head to have a great view of the game. The huge bonus is that the sound is on full blast, so the 'Go Flames Go' chant is so loud, its almost like you are at the game.
Melrose offers 3 floors, each with a slightly different vibe. The main floor as you walk in has a bar type feel to it, the middle leve, a flight of stairs below is more like a pub, with a few arcade games and comfy booths to sit in, and the basement level is almost like a lounge.
Melrose offers quality staff that are very efficient and responsive even during peak times, like game nights. An amazing martini list is available, and each martini comes in its shaker with a small glass. For my firends and I, this mean more martinis, and the chance to try several different kinds. Their nacho plate is massive, with tons of cheese, jalepenos and tomato. Delish!
As Melrose is a very popular spot on 17th ave during hockey or not, its wise to get there early if you are looking to havea seat. They also have a patio that is great for people watching when the weather gets warmer.
Melrose, the heart of the RED MILE. Check it out!!!
