The Globe
I had the chance to attend a pre-screening of a movie a few weeks back at The Globe Theater on Stephen (8th) Avenue. It is a charming place, with a distinct artsy feel to it. Many of the movies that are shown here are not 'mainstream' flicks. Often times the shows that win in the less popular, but equally brilliant, Academy Award categories are found playing here. For an updated list of showtimes and additional information, check out this website. As the theater is a bit older, count on tons of legroom i nthe seats, and a very nostalgic-esque vibe. Great date movie theater, as the movie they show definitally leave topics open to chat about after the show is over, not to mention its prime location, right downtown near all the best clubs, bars and pubs!
