For History and War Buffs: Museum of the Regiments

If you love the "art" of war or history, the Museum of the Regiments is the place to go.  Here they teach the realities of war to people of all ages in the hopes of preventing future wars and the ignorant judgmental beliefs that brew them.  The museum offers a variety of educational and interpretive programs. I have been there several times myself and absolutely love it.  There are ...

Bottoms Up!

In the Killary area of Calgary lies Bottoms Up! This joint is a true sports lovers haven! I went there for a friends birthday, not too sure what to expect. I was totally blown away! The beer was cheap, the food was great, with huge portion sizes, and the atmosphere was excellent. The table tops are covered in old sports cards, and are all themed. Each table has hockey, baseball, ...

Chutney: Thank You, Come Again!

The cashier yelled "Thank you, come again!" as we wandered out of Chutney on a cold Wednesday night and needless to say, I was already wondering when we would be going back for round 2. Oddly located in the Sun Life Plaza on 112 and 4th Ave SW, Chutney has an amazing buffet selection according to many however we tried the dinner selection.

The butter chicken and ...

Trong Khanh: I Pity the Pho

Tucked away in between Mykonos and a donair stop on 1115 Centre Street North, Trong Khanh is barely noticeable to those who are driving by. With a reputation created by John Gilchrist, Trong Khanh seemed to be a good place to grab a quick bite of Pho, unfortunately we were sorely disappointed.

The restaurant itself seemed well-maintained and the warm lighting created the ideal environment for a good family meal, however ...

Want a good laugh, listen to some good music, watch theatre, and eat at the same time? You need to visit Jubilations located at 1002 37 St. SW Calgary near Westbrook Mall.

Each year Jubilations puts on five musical theatre projects that spoof popular movies, television shows, and musical groups. There's usually a talented cast of about six to twelve young performers who sing, dance, and act each night for three ...

R&R Wellness, located just on the edge of the downtown core, right along the river pathway system is the ultimate in relaxation. As you step through the door, an attendant greets you with a pair of sandels, removes your jacket and the experience begins. If you arrive early enough, the steam room is your next stop, where you have the chance to let some of the stress of life float ...

The Globe

I had the chance to attend a pre-screening of a movie a few weeks back at The Globe Theater on Stephen (8th) Avenue. It is a charming place, with a distinct artsy feel to it. Many of the movies that are shown here are not 'mainstream' flicks. Often times the shows that win in the less popular, but equally brilliant, Academy Award categories are found playing here. For an updated ...

Origianl Joe's on 4th Open Again!

After a closure for renovations for a few weeks, my favorite Calgary pub has re-opened, finally! Lucky to have retained the majority of its staff, OJ's is open and ready to go, business as usual. For more information, please chek out thier website. The new layout and decor looks fantastic, however, the lively and fresh atmosphere has stayed unchanged.
If you happen to wander in Sunday through Wednesday evening, ask ...
