'Unmanned Hotels' how good of an idea is this?

I just read an article over at Pink Tentacle about what some might call a leap forward in the hotel industry. Unmanned hotels are a concept being developed by a team of five companies in Japan hoping to eliminate the tough process of checking into a hotel at the front desk. This ...

Great Hotel Marketing

You have probably seen at least one or two billboards promoting hotels during your lifetime. These hotels claim to be comfortable, clean, and loaded with really cool amenities that totally - and conveniently enough - fit what you are looking for when staying at a hotel.

But have you ever had a free preview of a hotel? I doubt it.

Better still, have you ever seen a hotel room on a billboard ...

Flying Luxury Hotel

Could we be looking at the future of the hotel business? I found this one floating -wink wink - around on the Popular Science website. What you are looking at is no blimp. It is the 400-ton luxury Aeroscraft.

Igor Pasterna of Worldwide Aeros Corporation came up with this behemoth of an idea. It is a huge luxury hotel in the sky, almost ...

Airport boarding pass kiosk in Vegas Hotels

The Venetian hotel is helping make your hotel stay much easier by teaming up with the McCarran Airport to introduce a kiosk-based service that will give guests the ability to check their luggage and receive their boarding pass directly at the hotel. Travelers have the luxury of arriving at the airport one hour in advance rather than the suggested three hours.

I love this idea because it can save everyone hours ...

Hotels of the Future

Taken seemingly out of a sci-fi movie comes a little story about the future of travel, and more importantly the future of human entertainment.

With the aid of $500 million, a Cold Warrocket and a little bit of love, Las Vegas hotel mogul Robert Bigelow and Bigelow Aerospace have created their first Space Hotel prototype.

This could possibly be the coolest idea ever. If you thought the view from your hotel room ...

Hotel Reviews of the Future

In a day and age where you can email everyone in your office a silly joke and receive the same one from your buddy Ted, who doesn't even work in the office, 15 minutes later, it is surprising that Hotel chains have not picked up on this lighting fast way of communicating with their customers more quickly.

Gone are the days of quickly jotting down your thoughts on a piece of paper and dropping it off at the front desk as you are running to catch a flight. Two major hotel chains (Marriott Hotels and Hilton Hotels) will no longer supply comment cards or mail out surveys to their guests. Rather, they will be using the power of the Internet to get in contact with their guests.

Keeping your Valuables Safe

You always hear horror stories of people on trips having their valuables or money stolen. It happens all the time, but is there a way to prevent this from happening to you? Of course there is!

Most hotel descriptions will mention if they have a safe available for you to use. However, if there isn’t one listed the first thing you should do when you arrive is ask if there is a hotel safe you can keep valuables in. The hotel safe is one of the securest places to put anything important, for example, your passport. If you do not have access to a hotel safe, or you need to have everything you travel with at you finger tips at all times, how can you keep your money and valuables out of the hands of thieves?

Hotel Bathroom...of the Future

TV of the Future

It has always bugged me that when I'm in the bathroom in a hotel I can't watch my morning news. Luckily for me The Charles Hotel in Cambridge Massachusetts has teamed up with a company called Séura to ...
